Job Summary
Leading the architecture and execution of critical cryptographic infrastructure, the full-time Senior Software Engineer will manage Coinbase's Public and Internal Certificate Management systems, ensuring high availability and security in a remote-first environment.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the development of high-availability services for novel certificate needs
- Define technical strategies and clarify ambiguous requirements for cryptographic solutions
- Shape engineering quality practices and mentor a team of senior engineers through rigorous code reviews
Required qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in software engineering with a focus on highly available, distributed systems
- Deep expertise in Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) and applied cryptography, including experience with certificate authorities
- Extensive programming experience in systems languages such as Golang, Java, C++, or Rust
- Proven track record with Tier-0 infrastructure where resilience and security are critical
- Experience leading technical strategy and architecture for large-scale projects with complex regulatory requirements
