Senior Software Engineer
Job Summary
To design and build scalable systems for Airbnb's Payments Platform, the full-time Senior Software Engineer will develop service-oriented backend systems, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and ensure high code quality in a remote work environment.
Key responsibilities:
- Design and implement modular, observable backend systems with well-defined APIs
- Collaborate with product managers and data scientists to translate business needs into product features
- Write high-quality, well-tested code and conduct code reviews to maintain engineering best practices
Required qualifications:
- 5+ years of backend software engineering experience, preferably in Payments or Fintech
- Proficiency in Java and/or Kotlin, with experience in microservices environments
- Experience with architectural patterns for large-scale web applications and high-volume data pipelines
- Strong commitment to code quality and automated testing
- Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
