Senior Software Engineer

Job Summary

Working remotely in a full-time capacity, the Senior Software Engineer on the Access & Authorization team will design and implement secure authentication and authorization systems, ensuring a seamless user experience across Coinbase's products and services.

Key responsibilities

• Own end-to-end design, implementation, and operation of authentication and authorization capabilities, including OAuth and 2FA
• Build secure, low-latency Go and gRPC services, ensuring strong observability and measurable SLOs
• Lead technical designs for complex initiatives, partnering with cross-functional teams to balance security and user experience

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of backend software engineering experience with strong proficiency in Go or comparable systems-oriented languages
• Experience designing secure APIs and understanding authentication, authorization, and session management standards
• Proficiency with gRPC, Protocol Buffers, and data stores like Redis or DynamoDB
• Track record of delivering complex, cross-functional projects from design to production
• Ability to utilize generative AI responsibly to enhance workflow efficiency and quality
