Senior Software Engineer

Job Summary

As a full-time remote Senior Software Engineer on the Access & Authorization team, the candidate will design and implement secure authentication and authorization systems, building distributed services that enhance customer experience across Coinbase products.

Key responsibilities

• Own end-to-end design, implementation, and operation of authentication, OAuth, sessions, tokens, and edge authorization capabilities
• Build secure, low-latency Go and gRPC services with strong observability and measurable SLOs for various Coinbase platforms
• Lead technical designs for complex initiatives and mentor engineers through design reviews and code collaboration

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of backend software engineering experience with strong proficiency in Go or a comparable systems-oriented language
• Experience designing secure APIs and managing authentication and authorization processes, including OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect
• Proficiency with gRPC, Protocol Buffers, and data stores like Redis or DynamoDB
• Track record of delivering complex, cross-functional projects from design to production rollout
• Ability to utilize generative AI responsibly to enhance workflow efficiency and quality
