Senior Software Engineer

Job Summary

To enhance the security posture of Firefox, the remote Senior Software Engineer will design, build, and implement security features, advance security architecture across multiple operating systems, and contribute to security initiatives while improving browser reliability and performance.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, test, and ship security features for enterprise users to strengthen Firefox's security posture
• Contribute to improvements in Firefox's core security mechanisms and architecture, including cryptographic protocols and web APIs
• Investigate security issues, identify root causes, and deliver robust fixes while diagnosing and resolving performance and stability issues

Required qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in low-level software engineering with strong proficiency in C and/or C++ and a solid understanding of security fundamentals
• Experience diagnosing and resolving issues in multithreaded, cross-platform native applications
• Familiarity with web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and interest or experience in Rust
• Experience working with distributed teams and effectively communicating technical ideas
