Senior Software Engineer
Job Summary
Partnering closely with project stakeholders and technical teams, the full-time Senior Software Engineer will enhance applications and provide production support, requiring strong COBOL and mainframe expertise, while working in a hybrid environment with in-office days on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
Key responsibilities
- Code, test, debug, implement, and document program assignments and technical documentation
- Gather information from existing systems, analyze program requirements, and design enhancements to existing programs
- Provide technical guidance on complex programming efforts and conduct quality assurance activities, including peer reviews
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science or related field
- 10+ years of mainframe COBOL programming experience, including CICS, JCL, and SQL
- 5+ years of experience across the systems development life cycle (SDLC)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for program design, development, and testing
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to manage multiple priorities
