Senior Software Engineer
Job Summary
As a full-time Senior Software Development Engineer on the remote IXP team, the candidate will design, develop, and maintain Workday's messaging platform, focusing on high-volume email delivery and multi-channel messaging services while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Key responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain components of Workday's enterprise messaging and email platform
- Develop and scale core messaging services and deliverability infrastructure following best practices
- Collaborate with Product Management, Design, and engineering teams to deliver high-quality email capabilities
Required qualifications
- 8+ years of software engineering experience with expertise in high-scale distributed systems
- 5+ years of experience in modern programming languages (e.g., Java, Kotlin, Go, or C++), REST/gRPC API development, and CI/CD pipelines
- 5+ years of experience designing and building scalable distributed systems, including microservices or messaging platforms
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to deliver software features
- Experience in mentoring junior engineers and contributing to code reviews
