Senior Software Engineer

Job Summary

To support the Data Movement & Transformation group, the full-time Senior Software Engineer will design, build, and operate large-scale change data capture and batch export systems, enhancing data infrastructure while collaborating with cross-functional teams in a remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design and operate multi-tenant platforms for data ingestion and streaming
• Deliver multi-month projects on time while collaborating with internal customers and leadership
• Improve the reliability and performance of critical data systems used across Airbnb

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in building and operating large-scale backend distributed systems
• Hands-on experience with streaming systems like Kafka and change data capture methodologies
• Proficiency in maintaining, analyzing, and debugging production systems at scale
• Ability to write clean, readable, and maintainable code
• Strong ownership and a proven track record of timely project delivery
