Senior Software Engineer
Job Summary
To support the Privacy Team in advancing the Firefox Web Platform, the remote Senior Software Engineer will implement privacy-improving features and architectural enhancements, focusing on C++, JavaScript, and Rust programming.
Key responsibilities
- Implement privacy-improving, anti-tracking, and threat intelligence protections in the Firefox web browser
- Enhance the Gecko browser engine with architectural improvements
- Develop performant, low-latency, and maintainable code in C++, JavaScript, and Rust
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
- At least 4 years of experience programming in C++ and Rust, with expertise in memory safety and multi-threaded system architecture
- Proven ability to deliver and improve complex software projects independently
- Experience scoping and landing complex features within tight release windows
- Strong background in web architecture and privacy/security models
