Job Summary
Passionate about privacy protections, the remote Senior Software Engineer will implement privacy-improving features and architectural enhancements in the Firefox web browser, utilizing C++, JavaScript, and Rust to mitigate user tracking and phishing.
Key responsibilities
- Implement privacy-improving, anti-tracking, and threat intelligence protection in the Firefox web browser
- Enhance the Gecko browser engine with architectural improvements
- Develop performant, low-latency, and maintainable code in C++, JavaScript, and Rust
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
- At least 4 years of programming experience in C++ and Rust, with a focus on memory safety and multi-threaded systems
- Proven ability to deliver and improve complex software projects independently
- Experience scoping and landing complex features within tight release windows
