Job Summary
To design and ship autonomous execution for agents acting on Alpaca accounts, the remote Senior Software Engineer will lead application architecture, develop account-level policies, and ensure production reliability while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead the application architecture for safe agent execution, ensuring compliance with trading systems
- Design and implement account-level policies and guardrails for external agent actions
- Mentor engineers and guide technical decisions related to brokerage systems and agent actions
Required qualifications:
- 5+ years of software engineering experience with a focus on production backend systems
- Experience in shipping autonomous execution software that operates under explicit policies
- Proficiency in Python or TypeScript, with a willingness to work primarily in Go
- Strong architectural judgment and a history of delivering projects amid evolving requirements
- Familiarity with MCP architecture and the ability to define unattended action rules in collaboration with Product, Compliance, and Risk teams
