Senior Software Engineer

Job Summary

To enhance the collaboration experience at GitHub, the remote Senior Software Engineer will design, prototype, implement, and support high-quality technical solutions while collaborating with cross-functional teams and providing mentorship to peers.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and ship scalable technical solutions across multiple GitHub services
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement innovative solutions and provide technical leadership
• Write architecture briefs, conduct code experiments, and build prototypes to achieve scalable systems

Required qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in Software Engineering or a related technical discipline, with proven experience in production software coding in languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, Go, Ruby, Rust, or Python
• Associate's, Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field with corresponding years of experience
• Experience with designing and implementing APIs for software integration
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools for setting up automated pipelines
• Ability to write maintainable code and advocate for system health and quality
