Job Summary
Joining a small engineering team, the full-time contract Senior Software Engineer will build and extend an API-first full-stack platform that connects employers, employees, and payroll systems, working remotely and contributing to the launch planned for January 1, 2027.
Key responsibilities
- Build on the existing platform and extend it toward launch, focusing on integrations with payroll and HRIS providers
- Maintain and enhance a provider-agnostic integration layer to facilitate the addition of new payroll providers without core platform rebuilds
- Design reliable background job pipelines and support money movement and reconciliation processes in collaboration with the finance team
Required qualifications
- 7+ years of full-stack engineering experience in building production web applications
- Strong third-party API integration experience, particularly with payroll and HRIS systems
- Demonstrated use of AI coding tools as part of the development workflow
- Experience modeling relational data for complex workflows and secure handling of PII and financial data
- Proven ability to deploy and monitor production services with a focus on operational visibility
