Job Summary
Joining a small engineering team, the full-time Senior Software Engineer will build and extend an API-first platform connecting employers, employees, and payroll systems while working remotely, contributing to the launch of a new educational philanthropy initiative set for January 2027.
Key responsibilities
- Build and maintain integrations with payroll and HRIS providers while extending the existing integration layer
- Design and implement reliable background job pipelines for payroll deduction sync and compliance-aware document workflows
- Make architecture decisions and document processes clearly to support a fast-moving team in an ambiguous environment
Required qualifications
- 7+ years of full-stack engineering experience building production web applications
- Strong third-party API integration experience, particularly with payroll or HRIS systems
- Demonstrated use of AI coding tools as part of the development workflow
- Experience modeling relational data for complex, multi-tenant workflows
- Proven ability to handle sensitive employee and financial data securely
