Job Summary
Building and shipping SMART on FHIR applications, the full-time Senior Software Engineer will work remotely to develop EHR integrations, design server-side FHIR R4 APIs, and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations while collaborating with product teams and health system IT.
Key responsibilities
- Build and ship SMART on FHIR apps, including backend services and OAuth 2.0 authorization
- Design and implement FHIR R4 APIs, mapping to internal data models and building CDS Hooks services
- Manage EHR vendor onboarding and go-live processes, ensuring proper handling of patient data
Required qualifications
- BS in computer science, a related field, or equivalent experience
- 6+ years of software development experience, with at least 3 years in EHR integrations
- Hands-on experience with SMART on FHIR, having built and shipped an app within an EHR
- Strong knowledge of FHIR R4, including resource modeling and terminology
- Experience with backend services in Java and Spring Boot, preferably on AWS
