Job Summary
Working remotely on a full-time basis, the Senior Software Engineer will design, build, and operate Kubernetes-based platform systems that enhance GitHub's production services while improving reliability, scalability, and operational clarity.
Key responsibilities
- Design and implement Kubernetes-based platform systems to support production services
- Enhance reliability and scalability across the Kubernetes fleet and manage complex cross-team platform challenges
- Mentor engineers and participate in incident response, driving improvements to prevent future issues
Required qualifications
- 6+ years of experience in Software Engineering or related technical discipline with proven production software coding experience in languages such as C, C++, Java, or Python
- 2+ years of experience with large-scale Kubernetes fleet operations and cluster lifecycle management
- Strong written communication skills and experience in remote work environments
- Experience with cloud-native platform systems and operational practices
- Ability to debug complex production issues across various systems and technologies
