Job Summary
Seeking a seasoned Senior Software Engineer for a full-time remote position, responsible for designing and implementing software solutions for the iSeries environment, leading technical initiatives, and mentoring junior developers within the Mobility Engineering organization.
Key responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance backend services and public REST APIs using Java
- Lead project lifecycles, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and ensure alignment with business goals
- Conduct code reviews, mentor junior engineers, and implement quality assurance strategies to maintain software standards
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering
- 10+ years of professional experience in software engineering with expertise in Java or C#
- Deep technical knowledge of iSeries technologies, including RPG III, RPGILE, RPG IV, and DB2 databases
- Strong understanding of object-oriented design, data structures, and algorithms
- Experience in designing and developing internet-scale services with a focus on scalability and reliability
