Job Summary
To build foundational services for the Business Map team, the remote Senior Software Engineer will design, develop, and deploy backend features, ensuring robust monitoring and testing while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Key responsibilities
- Design, build, and ship features for Business Map's backend services from inception to production
- Own feature areas end to end, including testing, monitoring, and staged rollouts
- Collaborate with partner teams to integrate new location and organization data
Required qualifications
- 5+ years of experience building backend services in Java, Kotlin, or another object-oriented language
- Proficiency with relational databases and SQL, particularly Postgres
- Experience in owning and operating production systems, including on-call responsibilities
- Familiarity with distributed systems, event-driven messaging, or microservices
- Proven ability to take ambiguous projects from design to production
