Senior Software Engineer - Go (VA)
Job Summary
Supporting a mission-critical application modernization program for a Department of War customer, the full-time Senior Software Engineer - Go (VA) will maintain and enhance high-volume, public-facing applications while ensuring their integration into a modernized platform, working in a hybrid environment.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain and support a high-volume application built with Go, React/TypeScript, and PostgreSQL, addressing application defects and security patches
- Develop and implement application-side changes for integration with a shared modernization platform while collaborating with engineering teams
- Troubleshoot production issues and implement fixes to ensure application reliability, performance, and availability
Required qualifications
- 7+ years of professional backend software engineering experience, with at least 3 years in production Go (Golang) development
- Strong experience in developing and maintaining REST APIs
- Hands-on experience with SQL and PostgreSQL databases
- Experience operating and supporting production applications in a cloud environment
- Familiarity with formal change control processes and privileged-access security requirements
