Senior Software Engineer II
Job Summary
To support the Managed Databases engineering organization, the full-time Senior Software Engineer II will architect and implement scalable database platform systems, lead complex technical projects, and mentor engineers in a remote environment.
Key responsibilities
- Architect and implement DBaaS platform systems to improve throughput, operability, and reliability
- Turn ambiguous requirements into clear technical designs and workstreams for predictable delivery
- Own performance and resiliency outcomes, enhancing resource utilization and fault tolerance
Required qualifications
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience with large-scale distributed systems
- Proven track record of diagnosing complex engineering problems in production cloud environments
- Working knowledge of relational database internals, specifically PostgreSQL and/or MySQL
- Strong understanding of concurrency, failure modes, and performance optimization in cloud environments
- Experience scaling services for data-intensive or AI inference-adjacent workloads
