Senior Software Engineer II
Job Summary
To support the Managed Databases engineering organization, the full-time Senior Software Engineer II will architect and implement scalable database platform systems, lead complex technical projects, and mentor engineers in a remote environment.
Key responsibilities
- Design and build control-plane and infrastructure components for managed database workloads
- Transform ambiguous requirements into clear technical designs and workstreams for predictable delivery
- Improve performance and resiliency outcomes, focusing on resource utilization and fault tolerance
Required qualifications
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience with large-scale distributed systems
- Proven track record in diagnosing and solving complex engineering problems in production environments
- Working knowledge of relational database internals, particularly PostgreSQL and/or MySQL
- Strong understanding of distributed systems, concurrency, and performance optimization
- Experience mentoring engineers and driving cross-team technical projects
