Senior Software Engineer II
Job Summary
To support the Managed Databases engineering organization, the full-time remote Senior Software Engineer II will architect and implement scalable database platform systems, lead complex technical projects, and mentor engineers to enhance team performance.
Key responsibilities
- Architect and implement DBaaS platform systems to improve throughput and reliability for managed database workloads
- Translate ambiguous requirements into clear technical designs and workstreams for predictable delivery
- Enhance performance and resiliency outcomes by optimizing resource utilization and fault tolerance in production environments
Required qualifications
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience in large-scale distributed systems or data-plane/control-plane infrastructure
- Proven track record of diagnosing and solving complex engineering problems in production cloud environments
- Working knowledge of relational database engine internals, specifically PostgreSQL and/or MySQL
- Strong understanding of concurrency, failure modes, and performance optimization in production Linux/cloud environments
- Experience scaling services for data-intensive or AI inference-adjacent workloads
