Senior Software Engineer, Network Datapath
Job Summary
To build and evolve high-performance networking software, the full-time Senior Software Engineer, Network Datapath will design, develop, and optimize network datapath technologies while working remotely with cross-functional teams to enhance DigitalOcean's cloud infrastructure.
Key responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize high-performance network datapath software
- Build and improve packet-processing and forwarding systems focusing on throughput, latency, and reliability
- Analyze packet-processing paths to identify and eliminate performance bottlenecks
Required qualifications
- Strong experience in designing and developing production software in C, C++, or Go
- Deep understanding of networking and packet processing, including TCP/IP and routing
- Experience with Linux-based networking systems and debugging performance-sensitive systems
- Familiarity with high-performance networking technologies such as DPDK and eBPF
- Ability to independently drive projects from technical design through implementation and production deployment
