Senior Spacecraft Command Engineer

Job Summary

Taking technical ownership of critical spacecraft systems in a remote capacity, the Senior Spacecraft Command & Data Handling Engineer will manage command and data handling across multiple generations of spacecraft, ensuring spacecraft health, anomaly recovery, and mission operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Own technical stewardship of spacecraft command and data handling across legacy and emerging satellite platforms
• Lead engineering investigations for on-orbit anomalies and develop recovery approaches
• Analyze telemetry patterns to detect performance changes and improve mission support through automation and practical tools

Required Qualifications

• Senior spacecraft or satellite systems engineering experience with a focus on command and data handling
• Bachelor's degree or higher in electrical, computer, aerospace, mechanical, or a related engineering discipline
• Strong knowledge of onboard computers, flight software, telemetry, and ground systems
• Hands-on experience investigating operational spacecraft issues and interpreting system data
• Familiarity with spacecraft software environments and scripting/programming tools
