Senior SQL Database Administrator
Job Summary
To support a federal customer's enterprise SQL database environment, the remote contract Senior SQL Database Administrator will provide administration, operations, monitoring, and technical leadership across SQL Server and SQL Cluster environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise Microsoft SQL Server environments
- Perform advanced SQL Server performance tuning and optimization, including maintenance and troubleshooting of High Availability and Disaster Recovery solutions
- Develop and maintain SQL scripts and database administration automation while managing database support requests and incidents
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in database administration and related database disciplines
- Advanced Microsoft SQL Server administration experience, including SQL Server Clustering and performance tuning
- Hands-on experience with database provisioning, backup and restoration, and incident management
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills with the ability to independently resolve complex database issues
- Experience with monitoring and alerting tools such as Idera and SolarWinds
