Senior SQL Server DBA
Job Summary
To take ownership of enterprise database environments, the full-time Senior SQL Server DBA will manage Microsoft SQL Server instances, lead application performance engineering initiatives, and mentor junior DBAs while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Architect, install, configure, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server instances across complex Windows environments
- Lead application performance engineering by analyzing execution plans and optimizing queries in collaboration with development teams
- Design and implement robust backup and recovery strategies while governing database security and capacity planning
Required qualifications
- 7+ years of hands-on SQL Server DBA experience in large-scale production environments
- Expert-level proficiency with Microsoft SQL Server 2019/2025 on Windows Server 2019/2022
- Advanced T-SQL skills, including query optimization and performance troubleshooting
- Proven experience with Always On Availability Groups and disaster recovery solutions
- Strong command of performance diagnosis tools such as Wait Statistics and Extended Events
