Senior SQL Server DBA
Job Summary
To drive application performance excellence, the full-time Senior SQL Server DBA will take ownership of enterprise database environments, leading performance engineering initiatives, mentoring junior DBAs, and acting as the primary escalation point for critical incidents in a remote setting.
Key responsibilities
- Architect, install, configure, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server instances across complex Windows environments
- Lead application performance engineering by analyzing execution plans and optimizing queries in collaboration with development teams
- Design and implement robust backup and recovery strategies, ensuring compliance with RTO/RPO targets through regular testing
Required qualifications
- 7+ years of hands-on SQL Server DBA experience in large-scale, mission-critical production environments
- Expert-level proficiency with Microsoft SQL Server 2019 / 2025 on Windows Server 2019 / 2022
- Advanced T-SQL skills, including query optimization and execution plan analysis
- Proven experience with Always On Availability Groups and disaster recovery solutions
- Strong command of performance diagnostics tools such as Wait Statistics and Extended Events
