Senior SQL Server DBA
Job Summary
Supporting large-scale production database environments, the contract Senior SQL Server Database Administrator will manage the performance, availability, and security of Microsoft SQL Server platforms, working 100% remotely from anywhere in the United States.
Key responsibilities
- Administer and support large-scale production Microsoft SQL Server environments and Azure SQL workloads
- Troubleshoot complex production issues, optimize database performance, and maintain high-availability and disaster-recovery solutions
- Implement and maintain database security controls, access management, and compliance requirements
Required qualifications
- 10+ years of experience administering Microsoft SQL Server environments
- Extensive hands-on experience with enterprise-scale production SQL Server databases, including those over 30 TB
- Experience supporting high-throughput database environments handling approximately 80,000 transactions per second
- Advanced knowledge of T-SQL, query tuning, execution plans, and indexing strategies
- Strong experience with SQL Server high availability and disaster recovery technologies
