Senior Staff AI Engineer
Job Summary
Partnering with a cross-functional team, the full-time Senior Staff AI Engineer will design, develop, and support AI software components while leveraging advanced AI technologies to create innovative solutions for Capital One's products, with the flexibility to work remotely.
Key responsibilities:
- Collaborate with engineers and product managers to deliver AI-powered products that enhance customer interactions
- Design and implement AI software components, including foundation model training and large language model inference
- Establish AI performance and safety standards to guide model development and deployment across the organization
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, AI, Electrical Engineering, or related fields with at least 10 years of experience in AI and ML, or a Master's degree with at least 8 years of experience
- Minimum of 10 years of programming experience in Python, Go, Scala, CUDA, or Java
- Experience in architecting AI platforms and making tradeoff decisions around cost, latency, and accuracy
- Proven ability to lead and mentor engineering teams and influence cross-functional stakeholders
- Experience deploying scalable AI solutions on cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure
