Senior Staff Engineer - Applied AI

Job Summary

To support the development of AI/ML-powered patient experiences, the full-time remote Senior Staff Engineer - Applied AI will enhance production models and systems, collaborate with the ML team, and tackle high-leverage applied AI challenges in a hands-on technical leadership role.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and improve production models and AI systems for patient experiences
• Build critical capabilities needed by Patient Engineering and establish strong technical partnerships with the ML team
• Evaluate and determine the best approaches for solving applied AI problems, including custom ML and hybrid solutions

Required qualifications

• 10+ years of software and/or ML engineering experience, with a focus on production ML systems and Python
• Deep hands-on ML expertise across the ML lifecycle, including model development, deployment, and continuous improvement
• Experience building shared ML infrastructure or reusable capabilities adopted across teams
• Proficiency in recommendation, ranking, personalization, and matching systems with a focus on performance evaluation
• Hands-on experience with modern foundation model/GenAI systems in production
