Job Summary
Leading the technical architecture and implementation strategy for Amplify's next-generation Design System, the full-time Senior Staff Engineer, Design Systems will work remotely to create scalable, accessible solutions that ensure consistent brand expression across products while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams.
Key responsibilities
- Architect and build the technical foundations of the Design System, including reusable component libraries and frontend infrastructure
- Partner with Design, Product, and Engineering leads to align technical strategy and implementation approaches across teams
- Provide technical mentorship and lead cross-team discussions to drive Design System adoption and establish engineering standards
Required qualifications
- 8+ years of relevant work experience in front-end development, UI engineering, or design technology
- Proficiency in Modern React, TypeScript, JavaScript, and web accessibility standards (WCAG)
- Experience with design systems architecture, reusable UI components, and Figma for design-to-code workflows
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional technical initiatives and manage competing stakeholder priorities
- A portfolio showcasing polished user interfaces and responsive web applications, preferably built with React
