Senior Staff Performance Engineer

Job Summary

Owning the end-to-end performance of workloads on a hybrid basis, the full-time Senior Staff Performance Engineer will diagnose performance issues, manage orchestration and inference internals, and ensure optimal throughput and latency for cloud services.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose performance problems across the serving path, from orchestration to inference internals
• Isolate issues to specific layers and owners, providing minimal reproducible problem statements for cross-stack findings
• Build lightweight telemetry and benchmarks to isolate or hand off problems, while mentoring engineers in profiling methods

Required qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on performance or systems engineering experience
• Deep understanding of systems fundamentals, including Linux internals and network paths
• Experience running performance-sensitive workloads on Kubernetes
• Proficiency in Python and C/C++ for instrumentation and debugging
• Clear technical writing skills for effective communication across teams
