Senior Staff Platform Engineer
Job Summary
To set the technical direction for the platform, the full-time Senior Staff Platform Engineer will own critical architecture initiatives, lead cross-organizational programs, and mentor engineering teams while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Own group-critical platform initiatives, ensuring alignment with long-term organizational strategy
- Define architectural patterns and platform primitives for consistent implementation across teams
- Drive execution across organizational boundaries, resolving systemic blockers and coordinating rollouts
Required qualifications
- 12+ years in Platform, Infrastructure, DevOps, or SRE roles, with ownership of multi-team initiatives
- Expertise in Kubernetes/EKS, service mesh (preferably Istio), and Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform or similar)
- Proven experience leading complex technical programs from architecture through execution
- Ability to debug production incidents in distributed systems and proficiency in at least one programming language (Go, Python, TypeScript, or Java)
- Demonstrated ability to influence across engineering organizations and mentor Staff-level engineers
