Job Summary

Leading the architectural vision for Coinbase's native mobile future, the full-time Senior Staff Software Engineer will drive the transition from React Native to native Swift and Kotlin builds, ensuring a world-class mobile development experience for millions of customers while collaborating with cross-functional teams in a remote-first environment.

Key responsibilities:

• Define the technical strategy for native app development and lead the AI-assisted migration approach
• Architect a reusable native framework in Swift and Kotlin, enhancing productivity across iOS and Android codebases
• Mentor engineers and foster best practices within the mobile engineering community at Coinbase

Required qualifications:

• 12+ years of software engineering experience with expertise in iOS or Android native mobile development
• Proven track record of managing outcomes across multiple teams, particularly in large-scale platform migrations
• Deep knowledge of mobile performance optimization techniques for both iOS and Android
• Experience influencing technical direction and resolving cross-team blockers at senior levels
• Familiarity with designing AI-native engineering workflows and using generative AI responsibly
