Senior Staff Software Engineer
Job Summary
As a full-time remote Senior Staff Software Engineer, the candidate will shape the roadmap for Health Log Analytics by collaborating with engineering and product leadership, setting architectural direction, and mentoring senior engineers while focusing on data ingestion, storage, and analytics.
Key responsibilities
- Help shape the HLA roadmap and ensure it delivers value to customers by integrating their feedback into actionable insights
- Set architecture direction across ingest, storage, and query, while leading design reviews and defining reliability and efficiency standards
- Mentor senior engineers and tech leads, fostering the growth of the next generation of technical leaders
Required qualifications
- 12+ years of experience in building and operating production distributed systems with substantial ownership of large-scale data or platform systems
- Broad knowledge of data ingestion, storage, query, and AI, with deep expertise in at least one area
- Experience with ingest tools like Kafka, and columnar stores or time-series databases
- Fluency in at least one programming language such as Go, Java, Scala, Rust, or Python
- Strong judgment on AI integration and tradeoffs related to consistency, latency, cost, and operational burden
