Senior Staff Software Engineer

Job Summary

Joining the Compute Engineering organization, the full-time Senior Staff Software Engineer will design and evolve compute scheduling and resource-management systems, build capacity models, and establish performance testing in a flexible or remote work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement compute scheduler and resource-management systems, ensuring workload fairness and efficiency
• Develop capacity models and forecasts for resource allocation across private and public cloud environments
• Lead performance and scale testing initiatives, including benchmarks and regression detection for scheduling systems

Required qualifications

• 12+ years of experience in software engineering or cloud infrastructure automation, with a Bachelor's degree; or 8+ years with a Master's degree; or a PhD with 5+ years of relevant experience
• Deep experience in designing multi-tenant, cloud-native SaaS solutions at enterprise scale
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Go, Python, or Java
• Hands-on experience with large-scale schedulers or resource managers, such as Kubernetes or Slurm
• Experience applying machine learning in production environments, including model development and feature pipelines
