Senior System Administrator
Job Summary
Supporting application operations for USDA Veterinary Services, the full-time Senior System Administrator will provide systems administration and operational support in a fully remote environment, ensuring the availability, reliability, security, and recoverability of mission-critical applications hosted across Azure Kubernetes and WebLogic platforms.
Key responsibilities
- Monitor application availability and troubleshoot interactions between applications and platforms, coordinating with USDA teams
- Manage SSL certificate and credential lifecycle activities, along with application backup and recovery procedures
- Support deployment, configuration, and incident response, including root-cause analysis and operational documentation maintenance
Required qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in federal or enterprise production system administration
- Experience with cloud and container platforms, including Kubernetes
- Experience with enterprise application servers such as WebLogic and virtualized environments (Windows/Linux)
- Knowledge of SSL/certificate lifecycle management and backup/recovery support
