Senior System Administrator
Job Summary
To support a VA healthcare EDI program, the full-time Senior System Administrator will manage AWS, Windows, and Linux environments, providing operational maintenance, technical support, and system upgrades in a 100% remote setting.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate and perform software installations, operating-system upgrades, and maintenance activities in accordance with IT procedures
- Administer and optimize AWS cloud infrastructure, including EC2, S3, and RDS, while ensuring system performance and security compliance
- Develop and implement backup, recovery, and database archive schedules to ensure data recoverability and operational stability
Required qualifications
- A minimum of eight years of system-administration experience, with substantial experience in cloud infrastructure management
- Hands-on experience with AWS services and proficiency in administering Windows and Linux/Unix operating systems
- Proficiency in scripting and automation using Python, Bash, PowerShell, or similar languages
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as AWS CloudFormation or AWS CDK
- U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance
