Senior System Engineer
Job Summary
To support a growing team, the remote Senior System Engineer will install, configure, and maintain IBM mainframe operating systems, focusing on IBM z/OS and related software products while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Key responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain IBM z/OS operating systems and ISV products
- Troubleshoot system issues, perform dump analysis, and execute system IPL planning
- Maintain documentation for system configurations and collaborate with application teams for problem resolution
Required qualifications
- Master's Degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or a related technical discipline plus 10 years of relevant experience
- Strong experience with IBM z/OS internals and system components
- Proficiency in SMP/E for software installation and maintenance
- Experience with JCL, REXX, SAS, COBOL, and TSO/ISPF
- Knowledge of system utilities such as IEBCOPY, IDCAMS, and IEBGENER
