Senior Systems Administrator
Job Summary
Managing complex operating systems and server hardware, the full-time Senior Systems Administrator will perform day-to-day operational maintenance, support, and upgrades while working remotely within the Veterans Affairs department.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee the operational maintenance and support of complex operating systems and server hardware
- Coordinate and perform software installations and upgrades while ensuring system performance and compliance
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures and schedules for system backups and data recoverability
Required qualifications
- 8+ years of professional experience in system administration with a focus on cloud infrastructure
- Proven experience managing complex Amazon Web Services (AWS) environments
- Hands-on experience with both Windows and Linux/Unix operating systems
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Systems Engineering, or a related field
