Senior Systems Administrator
Job Summary
To support the Veterans Affairs department, the full-time Senior Systems Administrator will manage operational maintenance and upgrades for complex operating systems and server hardware while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Perform high-level operational maintenance, support, and upgrades for server hardware and operating systems
- Coordinate and execute complex software installations and upgrades, ensuring compliance with IT procedures
- Monitor system performance and implement solutions for optimization and data recoverability
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Systems Engineering, or a related field
- 8+ years of experience in system administration, particularly with cloud infrastructure
- Proven experience managing complex Amazon Web Services (AWS) environments
- Hands-on experience with Windows and Linux/Unix operating systems
- Familiarity with AWS security practices and compliance frameworks
