Senior Systems Administrator
Job Summary
To support Veterans Affairs operations, the full-time Senior Systems Administrator will manage day-to-day maintenance, support, and upgrades for complex operating systems and server hardware in a remote environment.
Key responsibilities
- Perform high-level operational maintenance and support for complex systems and server hardware
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures and schedules for system backups and audits
- Coordinate and execute complex software installations and upgrades while ensuring compliance with IT standards
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Systems Engineering, or a related field
- 8+ years of professional experience in system administration, focusing on cloud infrastructure
- Proven track record managing complex Amazon Web Services (AWS) environments
- Hands-on experience with both Windows and Linux/Unix operating systems
- Experience with AWS security practices and services, including IAM and WAF
