Senior Systems Administrator
Job Summary
Working remotely in a full-time capacity, the Senior Systems Administrator will perform high-level operational maintenance, support, and upgrades for complex operating systems and server hardware while ensuring compliance with established standards and optimizing system performance.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate and perform complex software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) and schedules for system backups and database archive operations
- Monitor and tune multiple systems to achieve optimum performance levels and ensure data recoverability
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Systems Engineering, or a related field
- 8+ years of professional experience in system administration, focusing on cloud infrastructure
- Proven track record managing and maintaining complex Amazon Web Services (AWS) environments
- Hands-on experience with both Windows and Linux/Unix operating systems
- Experience with AWS security practices and services, including IAM and encryption mechanisms
