Senior Systems Administrator
Job Summary
To support Veterans Affairs, the full-time Senior Systems Administrator will perform high-level operational maintenance, support, and upgrades for complex operating systems and server hardware in a remote environment.
Key responsibilities
- Manage and maintain complex Amazon Web Services (AWS) environments, ensuring optimal performance and security
- Coordinate and execute software installations and upgrades while developing standard operating procedures and schedules
- Conduct hardware and software audits to ensure compliance with established standards and implement data recovery strategies
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Systems Engineering, or a related field
- 8+ years of experience in system administration, focusing on cloud infrastructure
- Proficiency in AWS services and security practices, including IAM, EC2, S3, and RDS
- Hands-on experience with Windows and Linux/Unix operating systems
- Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as AWS CloudFormation or Terraform
