Senior Systems Administrator
Job Summary
To support the Veterans Affairs department, the full-time Senior Systems Administrator will manage operational maintenance, support, and upgrades for complex operating systems and server hardware in a remote environment.
Key responsibilities
- Perform high-level operational maintenance and support for server hardware and complex operating systems
- Coordinate and execute software installations and upgrades while ensuring compliance with IT procedures
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures and schedules for system backups and performance optimization
Required qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in system administration with a focus on cloud infrastructure
- Proven experience managing complex Amazon Web Services (AWS) environments, including core services like EC2 and S3
- Hands-on experience with both Windows and Linux/Unix operating systems
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Systems Engineering, or a related field
- U.S. Citizenship required for this position
