Senior Systems Engineer
Job Summary
To support operational excellence in a remote environment, the full-time Senior Systems Engineer (Production Support) will manage day-to-day operational support of complex application cloud systems, develop solutions for technical issues, and ensure compliance with VA standards and security policies.
Key responsibilities
- Perform high-level operational support and troubleshooting for production systems
- Document and resolve system outages while communicating status to users and management
- Implement continuous improvement methodologies and maintain system asset inventory
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or a related field
- 8+ years of experience in systems engineering or a related field, particularly in production environments
- Experience with AWS and/or Azure Cloud services, including S3 and CloudWatch
- Strong proficiency in Linux/Unix and Windows operating systems
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation
