Senior Systems Engineer
Job Summary
To support Veterans Affairs operations, the full-time Senior Systems Engineer (Production Support) will perform high-level operational support for complex cloud systems, resolve technical issues, and ensure compliance with security policies in a remote environment.
Key responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day operational support and troubleshooting of cloud systems
- Document and report system outages, implementing solutions for recovery
- Maintain compliance with VA standards while performing system maintenance and installations
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or a related field
- 8+ years of experience in systems engineering or a related field, particularly in production environments
- Experience with AWS and/or Azure Cloud services, including S3 and CloudWatch
- Strong proficiency in Linux/Unix and Windows operating systems
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation
