Senior Systems Engineer
Job Summary
Working remotely in a full-time capacity, the Senior Systems Engineer (Production Support) will perform high-level operational support for complex application cloud systems, manage system outages, and ensure compliance with VA standards and security policies.
Key responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day operational support and develop solutions for technical problems
- Document and resolve system outages while maintaining communication with users and management
- Perform maintenance and installation of computing infrastructure, ensuring compliance with security policies
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or a related field
- 8+ years of experience in systems engineering or a related field, particularly in production environments
- Experience with AWS and/or Azure Cloud services, including S3 and CloudWatch
- Proficiency in Linux/Unix and Windows operating systems, along with scripting languages such as Python or Bash
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and experience with automation tools like Ansible or Puppet
