Senior Systems Engineer
Job Summary
Working remotely in a full-time capacity, the Senior Systems Engineer (Production Support) will perform high-level operational support for complex application cloud systems, develop solutions for technical problems, and manage system outages while ensuring compliance with security policies.
Key responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day operational support and maintenance for production systems, including troubleshooting and resolving outages
- Document issues and communicate status updates to users and senior management while maintaining system asset inventory
- Implement continuous improvement methodologies and ensure compliance with VA standards and security policies
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or a related field
- 8+ years of experience in systems engineering or a related field, particularly in production environments
- Proficiency in AWS and/or Azure Cloud, including experience with cloud-native technologies and infrastructure-as-code tools
- Strong proficiency in Linux/Unix and Windows operating systems, along with scripting skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell
- Experience with monitoring tools and system administration tasks, including user management and system performance optimization
