Senior Systems Engineer
Job Summary
Working remotely on a full-time basis, the Senior Systems Engineer (Production Support) will perform high-level operational support for complex application cloud systems, manage system outages, and ensure compliance with security policies while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Key responsibilities
- Perform day-to-day operational support and maintenance of cloud systems, including troubleshooting and resolving outages
- Develop solutions for technical problems and document issues in logging tools while communicating with users and management
- Implement continuous improvement methodologies and maintain system asset inventory in compliance with VA standards
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or a related field
- 8+ years of experience in systems engineering or a related field, with a focus on production environments
- Proficiency in AWS and/or Azure Cloud services, including experience with S3, CloudWatch, and automation tools
- Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix and Windows operating systems, along with scripting languages like Python or Bash
- Experience with database systems, monitoring tools, and implementing security measures in production systems
